DISA SALES
This page was updated and corrected on April 27, 2008. All prices and other information in paragraphs 1 and 2 below are subject to change as the plants mature. The best time to obtain disas is the early spring, when they commence a phase of strong growth. Flasks are a great way to add many plants to your collection, at an affordable price. But, if you do not have the patience to wait for two years for blooms, you may prefer older plants.
1. Young seedlings
These seedlings are approximately 2 year old from seed. They have been out of flask for a year or more and are growing vigorously. I have D uniflora in all the colors, and some wonderful hybrids too. The cost is $15 per seedling.
2. Blooming size seedlings
Most of my BS plants are now in spike, which makes it difficult to ship them. So, for the time being, these are not for sale.
3. Flasks. This is the recommended way to start collecting seriously!
I hope to have flasks will be available as early as March 2009. If you are considering buying flasks, please email me to let me know. I will then keep you posted as to availability.
4. Seed
Fresh seed will again be available in September 2008. However, if you are going to want Disa seed, it is a good idea to let me know well ahead of time. Every year I get last minute requests for seed, in August or September, and by then there may be no seed left to allocate. Seed is $10.00 per packet, plus $5.00 for S&H per order. Seed can be exported, at your own risk - postal authorities treat packages of strange looking stuff with some suspicion and I cannot guarantee delivery.
5. Other orchids
I have various Stenoglottis species and hybrids, in various sizes. Please enquire for exact availability.
6. Shipping
For all plant orders in the USA, sent by USPS Priority Mail, shipping is $10.00. Owing to the costly red tape involved, I do not export plants.
